Day 479 Yad L’Ami

Yad L’Ami – Day 479 – January 27, 2025

He who closes their eyes to the past is blind to the future.

That is true, especially in our time with the immense hatred towards the Jewish people, Israel, and its God.

Today, January 27th, is the national Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Someone once told me: “I never had anything to do with Israel until we as a family watched a movie every Friday evening about the history of Israel, the Jewish people, and the death of 6 million Jews. Only then did we understand.” Today, I still hear people say: “I have nothing to do with Israel.” I understand this because if you don’t know the history and also don’t read the Prophetic Word, then we miss the blessing in our own lives and also miss out on God’s plan. We then start thinking like a humanist.

I have read many books about life in the camps, and we know how terribly life was in the camps, but still, the following numbers are very poignant.

The Holocaust Memorial Museum has mapped out for the first time how many ghettos, labour camps, and concentration camps were set up by the Nazis in Europe from 1933 to 1945.

There were altogether 42,500 camps. The vast majority consisted of 30,000 camps for slave labour. Additionally, there were 1,150 Jewish ghettos, 1,000 POW camps, and so-called ‘care centres’, where abortions were forcibly performed on pregnant prisoners.
There were 980 concentration camps, 500 brothels with sex slaves where women were forced to have sex with German soldiers for their entertainment, and many other camps used to exterminate the elderly and disabled.

Read further:

The small Netherlands had the highest number of Jewish victims in Western Europe.
Out of 140,000 Dutch Jews, 107,000 were deported. Entire families were put on trains from Westerbork to Auschwitz or other camps. Five thousand people returned from the camps, and approximately 20,000 survived in some way, mostly in hiding.

All of this, the world wants to forget; it’s no longer taught in schools, and we dare not mention it by name in our sermons.

Now TODAY, antisemitism is even worse than in the ’40s. Back then, it was only in Europe. Now, it’s all over the world, and again, many do not want to see it. “Oh, it won’t escalate that much”, or “it will outlast my time”. Do not be mistaken. I can only make a very strong call not to bury your head in the sand. It’s at your back door. We are blinded by the lies of the media, but ultimately, the responsibility lies with us. By whom do we get informed, and do we still investigate what is true?
